Terms & Conditions of Sale
*Last updated: Arnold Petersen | 1 Sep 2026
These terms govern every purchase made directly from GeoParallax at geoparallax.com. Placing an order means you accept them. They don’t replace your rights under South African law — the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act apply to every sale, and nothing here reduces what they give you.
1. Who you are buying from
GeoParallax, GeoParallax (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2016/024242/07, trading from Waterkloof Glen, Pretoria. Contact: support@geoparallax.com. VAT number 4600324075.
2. The product and the price
We currently sell one product directly: Edge of the Continent: The Western Cape, a 338-page hardcover photographic book. The price shown on the order page at the time you pay is the price — ZAR, inclusive of VAT, with delivery charged as shown on the order page before you pay. The total is displayed on the Payfast payment page before any payment is taken; you are never charged an amount you haven’t seen.
3. Ordering and payment
Orders are placed through the order page and paid through Payfast, an independent, PCI-compliant South African payment processor. We never see or store your card details. An order is accepted when payment is confirmed by Payfast and you receive our confirmation email. If we cannot fulfil an accepted order (for example, a stock error), we will tell you promptly and refund you in full.
4. Delivery
We post to South African addresses via . Orders are dispatched within 2-5 business days of payment, and delivery typically takes 3-5 business days thereafter. The address in your confirmation email is the address we ship to — if it’s wrong, tell us before dispatch by replying to that email. For delivery outside South Africa or bulk orders, contact sales@geoparallax.com for a quote before ordering.
5. Cooling-off: changing your mind
Under section 44 of the ECT Act you may cancel your order within 7 days of receiving the book, without giving a reason. Email support@geoparallax.com within that period, return the book to us unused and in its original condition, and we will refund the full purchase price. The direct cost of returning the book is yours.
6. Damaged or defective copies
If your book arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, you are covered by the Consumer Protection Act: within 6 months of delivery you may return it and choose a replacement or a full refund, at no cost to you — we cover the return. Email support@geoparallax.com with your order reference and a photograph of the problem and we’ll arrange it.
7. Refunds
Refunds are processed through Payfast to the payment method you used, within 7 business days of our receiving the returned book (or immediately, where no return is required).
8. General
We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time of your order is the one that applies to it. These terms are governed by South African law. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stand.
